We offer high quality, pre-school education for children aged 3 and 4 in a safe and stimulating environment. Mrs Craigs is the class teacher and she is supported by Mrs Elvin, Miss Suzanne and Mrs Jackson. The nursery children are all working on the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum. Indoor and outdoor play is planned into the curriculum areas and there are opportunities for children to discover and explore in their own way.
Our sessions are at 8.55 am until 11.55 am and 12.25 pm until 3.25 pm. We offer 15 hours free funding (5 sessions) to 3 and 4 year olds and the 30 hours entitlement to working parents. You can choose from the following sessions.
- Every morning or afternoon (15 hours)
- All day every day (30 hours)
- All day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning (15 hours)
- Wednesday afternoon, all day Thursday and all day Friday
From 7.45 am, we have a school breakfast club provision which is open to our Pre-School Nursery children. Our children can also attend our afterschool wraparound care from 3.25pm until 5.30pm
Our children are given a healthy snack each session and freshly cooked school lunches can be ordered if required, or children can bring a packed lunch. We have a fantastic, newly renovated outdoor space and our environment is planned to meet the needs of all the children in our setting.
We also offer Forest School sessions during the week. This takes place in our wooded area next to the nursery garden. The children are free to explore, learn new skills, try risky activities supported by our enthusiastic staff. Our aim is to encourage and inspire children through positive outdoor experiences, so that children will grow in their love of the natural world alongside growing in their own self-belief, confidence and motivation.
We work closely with the school’s SENCO to provide support for children with additional needs and are able to meet the needs of all our little people. Our staff are knowledgeable and friendly and have many years’ experience of working in the early years, to ensure children are ready for the next stage of learning. We work closely with the Reception staff in school, ensuring a smooth transition into primary school.
We encourage Pre-School Nursery children to wear school uniform in line with the school uniform policy and bring a named water bottle. They will also need spare clothes with them (just in case). You can also bring a pair of wellies for playing outside.
